Profile

Proud pet parent of:
Bella the purebred mud who is mostly pit and lab but also has a lot of other breeds in her and Bobo our amazon double yellow crown parrot.
How we met:
Bobo my husbund brought to our new home when Sabrina my daughter was about 4 and half years old. Bella was our roomys for 2 years before he had to move and could not take Bella with him so we kept her and have been loving eachother ever since.
Pet likes:
Bella- her trampoline, dogparks, skunks and chasing all outdoor animals other than dog=skunks, outdoor cats on walks and esp in our yard and what ever else comes in our bushes at night that we cant see and she can, also walks and meet and greets and any other dog activity and love and treats etc. Also any commercials with animals on it.
Bobo Sabrina sining with him 24/7. He finally let her play the song lies from waifs from youtube instead of always her. the song is how the news usually lies about pitbulls for ratings and Bobo is learning it. He also likes his swing, anything with peanutbutter in it( he doesnt say " Polly want a cracker" he says " peanut butter cracker?") and anything that taste like popcorn
Both disney channells and sometimes animal channells.
Both love to sunbathe in our fenced in yard.
Pet dislikes:
Bobo-men, mirrors and the door being open for Bella to go potty,Sabrina doing homework instead of singing with him.
Bella -- the word "no" when asking for a treat, us staying up late to finish homework when she wants to go to bed but not alone, not being alowed to chase outdoor cats and not going to the park or to play with other dogs 24/7
Pet’s favorite spot:
Bella, on top of the trampoline or where ever Sabrina is,infront of the tv when we are all buisy for a long time, in her own bed in Sabrinas room when she wants me time.
Bobo on top of the cage.
Pet’s favorite toy:
Bella-skunks, outdoor cats, her trampoline and her balls
Bobo-his swing
Pet’s silliest habit:
Bella loves to chase skunks.
Bobo will complain if Sabrina stops singing for even a second. He also will bite all dogs who get to close to his cage to show them who is boss and used to say "here kitty kitty" when our neighboers had 14 outside cats.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
When Sabrina had sergery and I had to work but she needed to change pads and take medicines every 20-30 min the first day or 2 they both worked together. Bella layed next to Sabrina by the couch. The anestesia and some of the meds would make Sabrina very sleepy, so every single time, every 20 min for one med and every 30 for another Bobo would scream so loud Sabi had to wake up even with sleepy meds and than took the next dose or change her pads on her cheek from dental sergery or change the icepack. Bobo screamed, woke her, she looked at the time and did whatever she needed to do at the time, 10 min after she took her 20 meds bobo woke her for her 30 min med and Bella would not leave her site. She may have gone potty, were not sure, but as soon as I came in the door Bella looked at me as if to say " Good your home, mothering is exhausting, your turn now" and took her tired looking eyes to her own bed.
I crack up when my pet:
When Bella chases skunks and when Bobo dances or agrees when someone laughs at someone in or when we tease eachother with minor insults and he either agrees or laughs right at the right time.
My pet is unique because:
because they are Bella and Bobo

You made a reply to the judgmental "too many animals" post which makes a lot of sense. i.e. Often judgments of too many animals are dead-wrong. If the owner(s) can care for them, there is no beef at all; and most of the time that is the case in rural areas. I wish I'd said what you did. But I wasn't a member then. Well said! Well done!

Hi Athena, it sounds like you are a true animal lover and its great to have you aboard. I am too which is why I do my own research instead of believing viscious rumors from the media or other people. I first came to this through a pit bull making my daughter aware that the rumors about him and his breed the media spreads could not be furthest from the truth. So we both started doing our own research and found that the media really is dead wrong and in some cases litterally, dogs being killed because t hey look ugly. Later I heard viscious rumors about Peta and how they want to kill all pits and dogs that look like pits. Being a pitty advocate, I decided not to believe viscious rumors but to ask the horses mouth directly and well to make a long political letter short, those rumors are true, they think since pittys are the most abused they would be better off dead. I have a pitty mix and I dont abuse her and all the pittys at our shelter our loved even after they get adopted and my daughter hopes to some day be able to go to and afford bad rap work session, the rescue group for pittys. Because of that I am not really in to supporting Peta. Peta also wanted all of vics dogs death and told the judge thats the only way. ALL other organizations steped in and fought Peta and got the judge to let them test the dogs for behaviours, one had to be euthanized, the other 48 are now living in loving foster or adoptive homes. I would rather support those who give animals a chance at life and they do many of the same things Peta does. So when one of those organizations contacts me for help with petitions etc I will be more than happy to support them, but Peta spreads lies about pitties,so I am not sure what else they spread lies about. Sorry, I know you are a great animal lover and you probably hate me right now and if I wasnt a pitty lover I would have believed those rumors long time ago with just the hearsay. The sad part is peta and pittis are exactly the same, they both have viscious rumors spread about both of them, so they should support eachother and fight both rumors.
Thank you for caring and now that my finals are over and neighter I nor my daughter need the computer for school I will post the letter Peta sent me when I asked them the direct question

hi susan..if you go to ebay and look in the animal collectibles forum, you will find a truly sad pit bull story..they threw them raw meat, and one day they attacked the pit bulllpuppy that was with them to eat..its the owners ..not the breed of course..all animals react to their owners treatment...pitts can be so loving..
i do feral cat rescue, and meet with so much misunderstanding..to me they are all just homeless..my vet says they are healthier than the average house cat..having survived so much, just to still be alive..but people turn up their noses at the very word feral...i started feral rescue because no one else was..i used to be more of a dog person..but i went where the need was so great..i bet you meet with a lot of barriers too, from people who just dont understand..

Hi , how have you been? I have been out of touch with a lot of people for a long time so I thought I had better touch base with some of my friends. I hope you and your family are all well. And dont forget, tell everyone you know who wants a pet, ADOPT! For every dog bought from a pet shop, mall or breeder, another one dies in the shelter. Let's all work together to save these animals. Thanks and God Bless You.
